I just
realized, that I haven’t done what my mom asked me to and posted any of my learning targets and so forth about what senior learning experience actually is.
Now I don’t have the sheet in front of me, and I’m not on my own computer, because I have zero access to internet here, so please, bear with me as I stray from the prescribed format.
The big idea of this whole thing, for me...

off limits
I have been in Papua New Guinea since the 18th, it is now the 22nd, and I have to say, I have never felt like such a spoiled piece of dirt in my life.
No one has said or done anything to make me feel like I’ve done anything wrong, nothing at all actually, but let me describe what it is like to even leave the house.
Before I even open the door I have to call dispatch and give them my call...

just a tidbit
In Australia, Aborigines weren’t even citizens until 1967.
and a little bit more.
Yesterday, whilst strolling through South Bank after dinner, past little stanley street, past Streets Beach, I really had to pee, so I ducked into one of the public restrooms framing Streets Beach. Inside the public restrooms here, I’ve noticed that most have little “Syringe Disposal Units”...

for me
the absolute worst thing about traveling is the lack of touch.
Now get your minds out of the gutter.

The Waitress
Luckily, everywhere I have gone to eat by myself thus far have been of the grab and go variety. Little pastry shops, or sushi counters, fruit stands and the like. I say luckily, because I am the girl who leaves a twenty percent tip every time I go out, oftentimes I leave more.
While the waitstaff at most places, is bright, bubbly, friendly, and generally helpful, they are also slow, inattentive,...

While
all you people back in Colorado have been rejoicing over the weather, I have been stuck under a monsoon low. I have yet to see sunshine down here.
But last night I did see the moon.
See, Queensland has been in a drought for the last twenty years, or so I understand, and I get here, the drought breaks and the rains come.
Entire towns are being flooded out of their homes, with no infrastructure...

Now let me tell you
Being able to enter an establishment and order a beer, a glass of wine, a cocktail, or various other alcoholic beverages still feels naughty, even when it is completely legal.
Last night I went out to dinner with my dad and a few of his coworkers. It was a cute little place with art hanging everywhere, and pumpkin on the menu. I looked at the drink list, and was about to order a lemon lime &...

I am
so very confused.
I was watching the news, to get a feel for all things Australian, when all of a sudden it cuts to Antiques Roadshow BBC. So I figured that was the end of the news and I was about to to turn it off, but then it cut back to the news. So I thought maybe they were doing a story on Antiques Roadshow, or that I sat on the remote or something, but no. They just happen to intersperse...
