So Rolling Stone has a playlist issue, and most of it has been phoned in; Bono on Bowie? Yawn.

But ?uestlove went to town on Prince like an honest fan.

You might recognize this as Prince gave the demo to Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Because, you know, Prince basically wrote every song in the 80s.

Fun family activity: a Library of Congress search shows about a thousand songs credited to him. A surprising number went on to be hits for other people and a lot of them are less obvious than say Manic Monday. And even this doesn’t include his playing guitar on Madonna’s Act of Contrition or the synths on Stevie Nick’s Stand Back, etc

This is the reason I love prince.
